Before we began to go downstairs Alice drew me to a halt, and I looked down into her big brown eyes. ‘Cathy?’ she asked quietly, and innocently, ‘Are you going to be my mummy now?’ I could have wept.
Confused and vulnerable, four- year- old Alice doesn’t understand why she can’t stay at home with her loving grandparents. Cathy, Alice’s foster carer, doesn’t know either. It simply doesn’t make sense.
My Rating 5/5 Heartbreaking (Memoir)
This is the first Cathy Glass book that I have read.
A really good read and an real insight to foster caring. How fostering can be very demanding and at the same time very rewarding.
What a lovely people Cathy and her family are.
